What is A Gap Bed Lathe Machine? 

The lathe is suitable for performing a wide variety of cutting operations. such as international and external Turning, facing, slotting, and manual machining. 

A lathe consists of a bed to provide support, a headstock, a cross slide to traverse the tool, and a tool post mounted on the cross slide. The spindle is driven by a motor through a gearbox to obtain a range of speeds. The guideway and all gears in the headstock are hardened and precision ground. The spindle system is high rigidity and accuracy. A gap bed lathe has a gap in the bed near the head, so a larger workpiece can be turned. the gap lathes can be adjusted to machine larger diameter and longer workplaces.
